"Fearless" by Max Lucado
It’s after midnight. Your teenager is late. There is a gnawing, sick feeling in the pit of your stomach.
The biopsy was Friday. You stare at the phone waiting for the results. Your mind sees only one word in red, capital letters: CANCER.
What are your fears? Even if they are not rational, do they prevent you from living life to the fullest?
Max Lucado’s latest book, “Fearless,” will help you overcome fear. The book’s subtitle, “Imagine Your Life Without Fear,” is fulfilled by Lucado pointing us in the right direction with helps along the way. Success in removing your fears may depend upon your willingness to pray and live the very simple prayer Lucado recalls from a dream: “Stay strong. Trust Christ.”
Two of Lucado’s approaches in “Fearless” are very helpful. First, he shares simple, relevant personal experiences. Second, the book is filled with quotations from Jesus which are strong hitching posts for securing our faith as we travel through each day.
Each of us has fears that interfere with living a meaningful and happy life. This book can help us overcome them.
