Night Prayer
From Night Prayer at St. Matthew's:
Lord, it is night.
The night is for stillness.
Let us be still in the presence of God.
Eternal Spirit,
Flow through our being and open our lips,
That our mouths may proclaim your praise.
Angels of God,
Guard us through the night
And quieten the powers of darkness.
Spirit of God,
Be our guide
Lead us to peace and to glory.
Praise to God who has created us,
Praise to God who has accepted us,
And praise to God who sends us into the world.
As it was in the beginning, is now and shall be for ever.
Amen.
