No more beer
The abbey of Saint Sixtus of Westvleteren in western Belgium bottles beer to support itself. When the beer was voted to be the best in the world, it quickly sold out and the abbey had to close its shop.
"We are not brewers, we are monks. We brew beer to be able to afford being monks," said the abbey's abbot.
"Outsiders don't understand why we are not raising production. But for us life in the abbey comes first, not the brewery."
